Report

Redstar Energy 1 v Stafford Soccer School 1

Last Sunday Stafford steamrolled Star 4-0 , Star were determined to put the record straight with this last game of the season & they did just that!

The game started well with Stafford who were looking for the 3 points to secure promtion to Division 1 looking the brighter of the 2 teams & were all out to start the scoring off, Stafford hit the post & relsolute defending kept them at bay until a well taken 20 yarder squeezed into the far post 0-1 to Stafford, Star hit back with a few half chances but the score stayed the same into the break.

Redstar Energy 0 v Stafford Soccer School 1

The 2nd half was totally dominated by Star who pressed & pressed the Stafford team back time & time again & the pressure eventually paid off with the very impressive Joe H splitting the defence again to set up Owen for an easy tap in 1-1 , Star sensed Stafford were nervy & they went for the winner & chance after chance came & went with the excellent Stafford keeper saving 3 one on one chances. With time running out Stafford cold see their promotion effort was coming to an end & threw everyone up for a last minute free kick but the excellent Star defence & keeper cleared the danger to see the game out 1-1.

Fair play to Stafford they took the result & obvious dissapointment very well like all good teams do, Take note other u14s teams, if you celebrate the wins they you have to take losing as well! (You know who you are!!)

Final Score:  Redstar Energy 1 v Stafford Soccer School 1

Well done lads an excellent performance against a very good Stafford team we showed what level we have to raise our game to & with a few good players joining us in the close season I fully expect us to push on for the top next season!! ( No pressure then!)

Parents Man Of The Match: Liam & Recce ( Absolutley Superb!!)
Managers Man of The Match: Will Carter & Jack T (subline performance from both)
Special mention to all of the other lads, great  performance all round, probably the best weve played as a team all season, shame its the last game eh!!

Cmon The Star!!
